This Thing Works Great!!

It's been a minute since I've posted an update. Life has been going on!  I have listened to countless episodes of the podcast "How I Built This" with Guy Raz so I know that you have to take risks, follow your beliefs even when others doubt you, be persistent and maybe get a bit lucky. Risk is the hardest part for me. I wasn't raised that way and I have a disabled son and his Mom to support so I can't take the kind of risks that would disrupt financial support. If it was just me it would be a no brainer!

I've also convinced myself that the market for this type of camera mount is still a bit of a niche. It is growing however! There are others selling their mounts out there now and I see the numerous posts on IG and YT with that cool floating third person perspective. I think timing to enter the market with this product is going to factor into the success. For me and J.VIEW I've decided to make it available now for Pro's.

The J.VIEW Pro is 3D Printed using HP Multi Jet Fusion technology. It's more than viable as a sellable product in terms of quality and function. The issue is cost to make one when you include the 3D Printed Parts and added soft goods straps. I've had such great success testing this version that I've decided to sell them now! Why call it "Pro"? Because like all professional equipment it costs more to make with its quality custom printed parts and hand sewn straps. All done here in beautiful Colorado!

What I have noticed about the other mounts and home rigs people use is that they are where I was years ago. If you have read my blog on "The Journey . . ." you know I started working on this design in 2011. I learned what didn't work well and most of that had to do with stability, versatility and ease of use. Being honest it hasn't been until my most recent design and prototype that I find myself saying "This Thing Works Great!!". I've been capturing very cool and unique perspectives for years using my variations of the JVIEW mount and GoPro Hero (1-9). The setup and handling along with needed gimbals to get horizontal stability made using the mount and getting great video a challenge. Setup took time and patience. That's what kept me from releasing this sooner. I felt like no one but me and some other video capture freaks would take the time and effort to use such a mount. When 360's got good in the last few years everything changed. The built in stability, perspective, quality and size of newer cameras like the GoPro Max, Hero 9 & 10 and Insta 360 make getting great video a breeze.

This brings me to the newest J.VIEW mount. You adjust the straps to fit your body like a pack or use the straps to lash it to the back of another backpack in "piggyback" mode. Screw on the selfie stick and the camera, adjust the position and shoot. Using a phone app to control the camera is best. It's so fast and easy to use and the versatility of how you use it and where you position the camera is second to none. The lightweight base frame holds everything on a solid platform in combination with 6 contact points for straps. The lever arm of a camera on a selfie stick while you are moving creates a lot of torque at the base of the selfie stick where it connects to your mount. J.VIEW's honeycomb frame and adjustable mounting disk are beefy but light weight and designed to counter that torque. The result is a smoother capture with less "bobbing" of the camera depending on the activity. You can also position the camera quickly in almost limitless positions behind you high or low. Just a twist of a knob allows you to rotate the selfie stick around the clock either parallel with your spine or pitched back 30º. The selfie stick disappears and you have a floating camera capturing your amazing action!

This thing is so good and very cool too! The HP Multi Jet Fusion material is totally bomber! It looks and feels great! The surface reminds me of velvet. They use this same material to make prosthetics for limbs so that tells you this is tough stuff!

I offer them now at $599.00 per mount plus tax and shipping. Yes that's a steep number but when you get one you'll feel like it's not a $99.00 mount. It's worth every penny for the professional that wants a great and versatile mount that will hold up, work reliably, be lightweight, look great, pack up easily and give you much more than a pole sticking out of your pack. And most importantly you can wear it without a pack!

Contact me @ jviewmounts@gmail.com and let's figure out how to get one in your hands! I'll guarantee it and give you your money back if you don't like it or think it's not worth the money.
